PUK President Congratulates Citizens on Successful Elections

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), issued a statement congratulating the citizens of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq on the successful completion of the parliamentary elections.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to the citizens of Kurdistan and Iraq and thank them for their active participation in the electoral process,” President Bafel said.

“I also express my special gratitude to the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq and all security forces, who performed their duties admirably and contributed to the success of this important national process.”

“I urge all elected representatives to defend the rights of citizens in all regions,” he added.

“I hope that these elections will usher in a new era of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, leading to a fundamental solution to the outstanding issues based on the Constitution.”
