The general voting process for the Iraqi parliamentary elections concluded at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, 11 November 2025. According to preliminary unofficial results, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) achieved significant victories in numerous cities and towns across the Kurdistan Region, as well as in Kirkuk Governorate and the towns of Khanaqin and Tuz Khurmatu.

In Sulaymaniyah Governorate, the PUK secured a substantial number of votes, leading by a wide margin over other lists, with similar results recorded in Halabja Governorate.

In Koya, the PUK not only led the polls but maintained a commanding lead over other parties. The same was true in the Garmian and Raparin administrations.

In Nineveh Governorate, where the PUK ran under the Union of the People of Nineveh list, its candidates also received a significant number of votes.

Overall, the PUK achieved remarkable success in the disputed areas, as well as in Sulaymaniyah and Halabja Governorates, while securing second place in Erbil Governorate.

A total of 20,263,773 were eligible to vote across 18 electoral constituencies, with 8,703 polling centres and 39,258 polling stations operating nationwide.

A total of 7,743 candidates competed in the elections, including 5,496 men and 2,247 women. The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) had previously disqualified 848 candidates following legal and procedural reviews.

The candidates contested across 18 electoral districts for 329 parliamentary seats, including nine quota seats reserved for the Christian, Yazidi, and Faili communities.

The IHEC is expected to announce voter turnout and preliminary results for both special and general voting within 24 hours of the close of polling.
