Iraqi parliament Elections Iraq PUK

Qubad Talabani, Supervisor of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) electoral campaign in the Erbil Constituency, participated in the general elections and called on the youth and all segments of society to cast their votes.

Talabani said in a statement following casting his vote that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) had prepared for this election with a strong plan and clear programme, noting the public’s enthusiasm, particularly among PUK supporters.

“Voting is a fundamental right,” he said. “I call on the youth and all sections of society to take part in the elections.”

He added: “The people should choose the party that can resolve the issues of salaries, the budget, and other challenges with Baghdad — not those who have caused the problem. The results of the special vote have been very positive and encouraging, and I hope the general vote will reflect the same spirit.”

Voting for Iraq’s parliamentary elections commenced at 7:00 a.m. (local time) on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, and will continue until 6:00 p.m.

A total of 20,263,773 eligible voters are casting their ballots across 18 electoral districts, with 8,703 polling centres and 39,258 polling stations operating nationwide.

Special voting for security forces and internally displaced persons (IDPs) took place on Sunday, recording a turnout of 82.48%.
