PUK honors man who added Sorani Kurdish to Google Translate

The PUK leadership council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) honored the young man who added the Sorani Kurdish dialect to Google Translate.

The Leadership Council of the PUK gave an honorary shield and awarded Bokan Hassan Jaff, a talented young man from Halabja who made great efforts and worked hard for seven years to finally be able to add the Sorani dialect of the Kurdish language to Google Translate.

The young Kurdish man's move has attracted the attention of the Kurdish nation who describe it as an important move to preserve their identity.

Hassan, who is also the founder of the Google Crowdsource in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, was officially invited to the United States. He is scheduled to meet with Google next Wednesday.
