A tense calm has prevailed across the southern areas of Jazira region in Rojava since the early hours of the morning, despite continued military movements by factions affiliated with the Syrian Interim Government.
Local sources report limited troop movements south of Qamishli and Jal Agha, as well as to the west of Hasakah city. While the situation on the ground remains relatively quiet for now, the presence of armed factions has kept residents on high alert.
Meanwhile, the city of Kobani is facing a complete siege. Movements by armed groups have been observed along the southern and western outskirts of the city and its surrounding countryside, raising serious concerns over a potential escalation in the coming hours.
Despite the existence of a ceasefire agreement, factions linked to the Syrian Interim Government have continued to violate its terms, carrying out repeated attacks against the region. On Tuesday, areas in the countryside of Tell Tamer in Jazira region were targeted, alongside the western rural areas of Hasakah city near Mount Kazwan, close to the village of Tell al-Laban.
In response to the ongoing threats, residents across the Jazira and Kobani districts have stepped up local security efforts. As part of a general mobilisation, communities are protecting their neighbourhoods, villages and towns through committees formed to maintain vigilance and defend against further attacks.
