PUK President, Islamic Supreme Council President Stress Adherence to Constitutional Timelines

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met in Baghdad with Dr Humam Hamoudi, President of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq.

The meeting, attended by Qubad Talabani and Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, members of the PUK Political Bureau, underscored the importance of adhering to constitutional timelines to complete the legal procedures that ensure balance and genuine partnership within the country.

Both sides also stressed the need for all political parties to respect the constitutional deadline for electing the President of the Republic and to conclude the process by next Sunday, in order to avoid a constitutional vacuum.
