The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region has scheduled a new date for the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliamentary elections.
In a news conference monitored by PUKMEDIA, Dilshad Shihab, the Spokesman for the Kurdistan Region Presidency, said that the presidency has determined October 20, 2024, as the new date for conducting the Kurdistan Parliamentary elections.
The content of the decree is as follows:
According to the terms of the second paragraph of Article 10 of the Kurdistan Region Presidency Law, Regional Decree No. 222 of 2024 is now issued, stating the following:
First, the general election of the sixth session of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region has been scheduled for October 20, 2024.
Secondly, it is imperative for the pertinent authorities to collaborate and coordinate their efforts with the Independent High Electoral Commission in order to execute this decree.
Thirdly, this order will be enforced starting from the date it is issued and will be made public in the official newspaper.
