DPM Talabani & Japanese Ambassador Discuss Supporting Kurdistan Innovators

Deputy Prime Minister & Japanese Ambassador
Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister, met with Futoshi Matsumoto, the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, to address several matters of shared concern.
During the meeting that took place on Wednesday in Erbil, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Japan for its support to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in multiple areas, particularly in education and cultural development. He emphasised the importance of fostering connections between the Kurdistan Region and Japan, particularly in the realm of technology and supporting young innovators and entrepreneurs.
The meeting also addressed the Foundation Hub project, a significant training and capacity-building centre for innovators and entrepreneurs that are set to launch soon. Both parties agreed that this project will contribute to the enhancement of the capabilities of creative young individuals and the reinforcement of the private sector in the Kurdistan Region.
Talabani called on Japan to support the Kurdistan Region by providing trainers and establishing training programmes in Japan for the Region's innovators and entrepreneurs. The Japanese ambassador conveyed his country's readiness to provide any form of support to ensure the success of the project.
