Qubad Talabani Urges Continuity of Services and Projects Amid Regional Tensions

Deputy PM’s meeting with Sulaimaniyah Municipal Council.

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani held a meeting with the Sulaimaniyah Municipal Council, during which it was agreed that the necessary steps would be taken to address the current situation.

At the session, convened on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, Qubad Talabani thanked the council for its recent performance, noting that he expects further efforts and improved services in the period ahead.

Referring to the war and the heightened tensions in the region, and their repercussions for the Kurdistan Region, the Deputy Prime Minister underlined that such challenging circumstances must not hinder service to the public. He stressed that projects should continue without interruption and that full support and facilitation must be extended to investors.

He also urged the health sector to finalise its preparations promptly in order to respond to any emergency. It was further agreed that all directorates and departments should adopt special measures to prevent overcrowding while handling citizens’ transactions.
