The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced on Wednesday that Iraqi airspace will remain closed to all incoming, departing, and transiting aircraft for an additional 72 hours.
In a statement, the authority said: “The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announces the extension of the closure of Iraqi airspace to all incoming, departing, and transiting aircraft for 72 hours, from 12:00 PM on Wednesday, 4 March 2026 (09:00 UTC) until 12:00 PM on Saturday, as a temporary precautionary measure.”
The statement added: “This decision is based on the ongoing assessment of the security situation and regional developments, and will be reviewed as necessary. Airlines and relevant authorities will be informed of any further updates.”
