PUK President Receives Call from Iranian Foreign Minister, Stresses Peaceful Solutions

PUK President and Iranian Foreign Minister.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received a telephone call from Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The two sides discussed the latest security and military developments in the region.

President Bafel Jalal Talabani underscored the need to pursue a peaceful solution to the existing challenges and to return to negotiations in order to reinforce stability across the Middle East, noting that the PUK’s efforts are focused in this direction.

For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister thanked President Bafel for his active role in preserving stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, commending the PUK’s constructive and peaceful role in the region. He affirmed that they would remain in ongoing contact.
