The administration of the Dukan Dam has reported a notable increase in water levels after recent rainfall across the Kurdistan Region.

Speaking in a televised interview monitored by PUKMEDIA, Kochar Jamal highlighted the impact of the rains, stating, “The recent rainfall has had a considerable effect on the water level in the Dukan Dam, raising it by around 50 centimetres.”

Jamal added that since the start of the current rainy season, the dam’s water level has climbed by more than six metres. “This is a highly positive development that will benefit both water storage and electricity generation,” he noted.

The rise in water levels comes as a welcome relief for authorities and locals, providing optimism for improved management of water resources and energy production in the region.
