President Bafel: Iraq needs consensus and unity to overcome the problems

President Bafel receives French Ambassador

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Eric Chevalier, French Ambassador to Iraq, in Baghdad.

The meeting covered the most recent political and economic events in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and emphasized the significance of working together to overcome challenges and issues.

The PUK's political initiatives and steps to create a stable future were mentioned by President Bafel, who added: "The country needs consensus and unity to overcome the problems, and our goal is to restore and strengthen trust among the political forces so that we can all lead the country towards a peaceful and stable future."

Both parties emphasized the growth of relations between the two nations, and President Bafel stated, "Since France is an important ally of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, I call for expanding relations based on defending mutual interests and playing a more effective role in the development of the region and Iraq."
