Turkish border guards shot and killed on Thursday a farmer in a village east of Kobani, northern Syria.

The deceased is Ibrahim Osman Mohyaddin, a resident of the village of Goran, 28 km east of Kobani.

Khalil Qawas, a resident of the village of Kharabisan Foqani, told North Press, “Mohyaddin, who hails from the village of Kharabisan Foqani, was shot when he was watering his farmland in the village of Goran on the Turkish border.”

Qawas added that Mohyaddin was transferred to Kobani Hospital, but passed away before getting there, noting that he was shot in the chest.

On September 27 of last year, the Turkish border guards shot and wounded 55-year old farmer Muhammad Ahmad Sheikho in the village of Seftak, in Kobani western countryside, while he was wandering his land, which is adjacent to the Turkish border (approximately 250 m off the Turkish border).

The Turkish border guards repeatedly target Syrian farmers in different areas while they work in their farmlands near the border.

Until mid-February, The Violations Documentation Center in Northern Syria (VDC-NSY) had documented the death of 525 Syrians, including 101 minors and 67 women, by Turkish border guards.
