WHO praises Slemani's General directorate of Health in confronting Cholera

The World Health Organization (WHO) praised the efforts of the General Directorate of Health of Slemani Governorate in confronting the spread of cholera.

Dr. Ahmed Zouiten, WHO's representative in Iraq, visited the emergency department at Shahid Hemin Hospital in Slemani to witness the situation due to the increasing cases of diarrhea and cholera.

The health officials explained the efforts of the health staff at the hospital in treating cholera patients to Zouiten, and he praised the treatment services provided.

During the last period, the Slemani Governorate witnessed a significant increase in the spread of cholera as health and service authorities took many measures to prevent the spread of the infection.
