One if the crashed drones.
A specialised security and technical committee arrived in Erbil on Saturday, 2 August 2025, from Baghdad to investigate and gather evidence related to recent drone attacks targeting oil installations in the Kurdistan Region. The committee is expected to issue a detailed report outlining the nature and origin of the attacks.
According to information available to PUKMEDIA, “The committee will conduct extensive investigations into the drone attacks and unexploded drones, analysing their components, construction, and manufacturer. The sources and trajectories of the drone launches will also be examined, along with other security and technical aspects. The committee will compile its findings into a comprehensive report.”
The committee is scheduled to conduct a field visit on Sunday to inspect the sites directly targeted by the attacks, as well as the locations where the drones crashed.
It is worth noting that the Kurdistan Region has recently witnessed a series of drone attacks — with up to 20 incidents reported — most of which have targeted vital energy infrastructure. These repeated assaults have had a direct impact on the Region’s oil production capacity.
