Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Member of the Political Bureau and Head of the Relations Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Mohammed Kazim al-Sadiq, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, along with his delegation, in Erbil today.

The meeting was attended by Farmarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Kurdistan Region. Discussions focused on the situation in the Region and recent developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Darbaz Kosrat emphasised that “the PUK wants the Kurds to be united in Baghdad and participate in the new government, and the new cabinet should be formed in the Kurdistan Region as soon as possible.”

They also addressed regional stability and the long-standing political relations between the Kurds and Iran. They highlighted the importance of developing cultural, trade, and humanitarian exchanges between the Kurdish people and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
