Qubad Talabani: Congratulations to Zakho and All of Kurdistan

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, congratulated the Kurdistan Region's Zakho FC fans for winning the FIFA Fan Award.

"Winning the Fan Award is a tremendous honour for Zakho, for Kurdistan’s sports community, and for all Kurdish people. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Zakho, its fans, the residents of the town, and the entire Kurdish nation," Talabani said in a statement.

"What makes this achievement especially meaningful is that it reflects the solidarity and support of all Kurdish people. Despite the oppression and hardships endured, the Kurdish nations remains resilient and progressing—a true testament to our collective solidarity," he added.

"During this period, the support for Zakho has been unanimous, and today, everyone shares in the joy and celebrations of the people of Zakho, just as they stood in solidarity with Chamchamal and Garmian in their times of sorrow last week," he said.

"It is our hope that this sacred feeling of unity, shared destiny, and solidarity among the Kurdish people can extend to politics, as this is the path that will lead our nation toward greater achievements," he added.

It is noteworthy, floods struck several areas of the Kurdistan Region last week, including Chamchamal and Garmian, resulting in loss of life and causing extensive material damage in the area.
