PUK's Second Media Conference Successfully Ends

PUK's Second Media Conference.

The Second Media Conference of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) concluded with success on Friday, January 12, 2024. 

The five committees, formed during the first day of the conference, presented their reports,  while the conference's supervisory committee provided a summary of these reports to the head of the PUK's Media and Awareness Bureau, as well as the supervisor of the PUK's Media Board. Subsequently, all decisions and recommendations will be channeled to the Political Bureau and the Presidency of the PUK via the head of the Press and Awareness Bureau and the supervisor of the Media Board.

Imad Ahmed, Head of the PUK's Media and Awareness Bureau, delivered a speech at the conference and said: "I am delighted to have successfully completed the Second Media Conference of the PUK. Based on our observations over the past two days, we have a distinct aversion to emulating others' media. We proudly identify ourselves as PUK's media and refrain from drawing comparisons to any other media sources. Our media should align itself with the interests of the people and the nation, and the upcoming year should be characterized by more transformative developments."

He further stated: "A significant number of youth and women actively engaged in the conference committees, voicing their opinions and offering suggestions. This serves as a cause for happiness and satisfaction for all of us, and it is imperative that we present the suggestions to the leadership, political bureau, and president for prompt implementation, so safeguarding the rights of our media people. This conference is not the final one, and this triumph will pave the way for future triumphs."

Latif Nerwayi, the Supervisor of the PUK's Media Board, made the concluding address of the conference and expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the Second Media Conference of the PUK. 

Following a 14-year gap, the Media Board of the PUK convened its second conference within a span of two days. The conference was attended by approximately 350 conference members, over 40 media professionals, and a significant number of members from the PUK's Political Bureau and Leadership Council. The objective was to restructure and articulate the media policy of the PUK in order to prepare for the upcoming phase of media operations.
