Samir Hawrami, spokesperson for Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) team in government was given a plan to solve the financial problems over seven months ago, according to the spokesperson for Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, who also stated that if the problem is not solved, an agreement will be sought with Baghdad.
"Over seven months ago, we presented the government's KDP team with a plan to address Sulaymaniyah and Halabja's financial issues," Samir Hawrami, spokesperson for Qubad Talabani, told Kurdsat. "If the problem is not resolved, we will try to reach an agreement with Baghdad."
"The financial problems of Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Raparin, and Garmian administrations are at the heart of the dispute between the PUK team and the KDP team in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), and we have not received any response to solve these problems," Hawrami added.
"Qubad Talabani is always striving to address the financial problems of these regions. If the situation is not rectified, we expect to strike an arrangement with Baghdad to free the Sulaymaniyah administration from oppression," he continued.
