The documentary film 'Evan: A Survivor's Story' has been officially selected to participate in the 2022 Barcelona International Film Festival.

Yar Ahmadi told PUKmedia, "the film 'Evan: A Survivor's Story' has been selected to officially participate in Barcelona International Film Festival."

The length of the film is 18:15 minutes; it is a co-production by Rafiq Yarahmadi and Tomaso Aramini, who is Italian and holds a doctorate in cinematography.

Barcelona International Film Festival is an international competition celebrating the best and major independent films and filmmakers from around the globe.

The film has so far won several awards at international film festivals in the U.S., Russia, India and the UK.

The film examines the story of a Kurdish journalist from the city of Kirkuk who after the ISIS attack on the city in fear of the life of his family was forced with his children to leave the city and go like thousands of Kurds into exile.

Yarahmadi indicated that this incident is similar to what the director of the film faced, who was also forced to leave eastern Kurdistan and chose to become Peshmerga and then was exiled.

Rafik Fouad Yar Ahmadi is from the city of Baneh eastern Kurdistan and holds a master's degree in documentary films in the UK where he lives now.
