On Thursday, the unveiling ceremony was launched on the monument of Chnar and Hemn, a sister and brother, who froze to death on January 7, 1992, while they were on their way to school.
In the town of Said Sadiq, the siblings were on their way to school on a freezing day in 1992, not knowing that the school administration informed the students that it would close its doors because of the bad weather.
Chnar and her brother, Hemn, had to sleep outside in the snow-covered area after losing their way.
The residents who witnessed the incident say that they found the two children while one of them was cuddling the other.
The local authorities found hemn dead from the cold, but his sister, who was slightly older than him, was breathing her last breath after learning of her brother's death.
The unveiling ceremony took place today, after renovating the monument, in the presence of large crowds in the town of Said Sadiq.
