On Wednesday, 17 December 2025, a photography exhibition was inaugurated at the National Museum of Amna Suraka, Sulaymaniyah, to mark Kurdistan Flag Day. The exhibition featured a collection of photographs highlighting Kurdistan’s natural landscapes, culture and heritage.

The exhibition brought together 23 photographers from all four parts of Kurdistan, who presented 50 unique artistic images portraying nature, cultural life, traditional dress and the historical heritage of Kurdistan’s cities.

Speaking to PUKMEDIA, photographer Nasih Ali Khayat said the exhibition was not only held to honour photographers on Kurdistan Flag Day, but also served as a shared platform for exchanging different views and perspectives among photographers from across Kurdistan. He added that it encourages photographers to travel between cities to document Kurdistan’s beauty and present it to the world.

Kurdistan Flag Day is observed annually on 17 December as a national holiday in the Kurdistan Region.
