President Rashid Meets al-Hakim to Discuss Political and Security Developments

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid's meeting with Ammar al-Hakim, 30 November 2025.

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met on Sunday with Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National Wisdom Movement, to review the latest political and security developments, as well as ongoing negotiations between political blocs aimed at reaching consensus on advancing constitutional processes.

At the outset of the meeting, President Rashid expressed his gratitude to al-Hakim for attending the funeral and offering condolence following the passing of his brother, Shamal Jamal Rashid.

The discussion highlighted the importance of unifying national efforts, prioritising Iraq’s higher interests, and fostering constructive dialogue to support the formation of a capable government committed to implementing reform programmes and meeting public expectations.
