Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, issued a statement on the 241st anniversary of the founding of Sulaymaniyah, reaffirming his deep affection for the city and admiration for its resilient people.

Deputy PM Talabani said in his message to Sulaymaniyah:

“On the 241st anniversary of the founding of the city of all cities, we once again reiterate our deep love for Sulaymaniyah and its brave, proud residents. We take pride in its present and its brilliant history.

Sulaymaniyah is beloved not only by its own people, but by all Kurdish people for the distinguished role it has played throughout its history.

The city will undoubtedly continue to lead — becoming more prosperous and more developed year after year — and remain, as always, a centre of innovation, culture, and free thought.”
