Italian Archaeological Team Visits Kifri to Assess Cultural Sites

The Directorate of Archaeology and Antiquities of Kifri town in Garmian Administration announced that a delegation from MiSAK, the Italian Historical and Archaeological Mission in Kurdistan, visited the town on Friday, in coordination with the Garmian Archaeology and Antiquities Directorate.

According to a statement by Kifri's Directorate of Archaeology and Antiquities, the team toured several archaeological sites in the area and that the purpose of the visit was to research, document and study cultural sites in and around Kifri, as well as to prepare for future restoration and excavation work at a number of locations.

The statement added that the Italian MiSAK team has previously taken part in excavation and restoration efforts at numerous archaeological and cultural sites across the Kurdistan Region and Garmian.
