On Saturday, May 25, 2024, Shalaw Kosrat Rasul welcomed Valerie Ulrich, Political Officer of the United States (U.S.) Consulate, in Erbil.

The topics of discussion included the current state of affairs in Kurdistan, the parliamentary elections in Kurdistan, and the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.

"The PUK strongly desires and insists that the elections take place as soon as possible," Rasul stated.
