President Rashid stressed the importance of utilising this significant accomplishment to facilitate productive discussions between the federal and regional governments in order to address the remaining issues in accordance with the constitution and laws and to adhere to the political agreements upon which the government was formed in order to reach mutually satisfactory understandings that protect the rights of all citizens, including those in the Kurdistan Region, as this approach will help prevent any negative consequences that may burden them. The President also commended the Kurds for their resilience and wisdom in enduring challenging and complex circumstances that directly impacted their living conditions.
In addition, the Iraqi President highlighted the significance of establishing the required infrastructure for holding elections in the Kurdistan Region and ensuring the involvement of all political parties in order to guarantee the fairness and transparency of the process, as demanded by the citizens of Kurdistan. Along with the current agreement, the President of the Kurdistan Region emphasised that settling the salary dispute for employees in the region will improve relations between the federal and regional governments and make other outstanding issues easier to resolve.
In addition, he commended the Iraqi President for his instrumental role and diligent efforts in reaching a consensus on the matter of salaries.
