PUK President: We Can Coordinate More with Our Friends

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union Kurdistan (PUK), held a meeting with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, in Tehran.
The convened assembly involved prominent individuals such as Rafaat Abdullah, Decision-Maker of the PUK's Executive Board, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, an executive member of the PUK Political Bureau, Imad Ahmad, a member of the Political Bureau, and Hiwa Ahmed, Head of the Kurdistan Region's Asayish Agency. The primary focus of the meeting revolved around enhancing the enduring connections between the Kurdistan Region, particularly the PUK, and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Additionally, the participants explored avenues for expanding trade interactions while emphasizing the importance of upholding security measures and fostering cultural cooperation.
In the beginning, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, expressed admiration for the contributions made by President Mam Jalal in the construction of the new Iraq, as well as in fostering harmony and cohabitation among diverse nations and communities. The speaker indicated that the legacy of President Mam Jalal will endure, and the PUK will carry on with its sound policy in a similar vein, and that this approach is recognized as a potent force and plays a significant part in the achievement of Iraq's political endeavors.
President Bafel emphasized the importance of upholding stability and security in the region. He expressed that ongoing efforts to address challenges and surmount obstacles persist, and expressed his hope that all participants would take measures to safeguard their utmost interests. President Bafel underscored the significance of prioritizing the preservation of peace and security in the region.
In reference to the internal dynamics of the PUK and the party's interactions with the government in Baghdad and neighboring nations, President Bafel has expressed the intention to uphold a consistent, judicious approach akin to that of former President Mam Jalal. Emphasizing the PUK's commitment to a robust and independent decision-making process, President Bafel affirmed the party's dedication to serving the interests of the people, as well as the ability to have a comprehensive level of coordination with the party's friends, enabling collaborative efforts to attain optimal benefits, and that interactions with the Shiite community and the Islamic Republic of Iran are situated within this overarching framework.
