Presidents of Iraq and Syria
The President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, made a phone call with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
President Rashid sent his most sincere sympathies to President Assad, the Syrian people, and the relatives of the dreadful earthquake victims.
President Rashid emphasized the total sympathy of the Iraqi people and their government with the Syrian and Turkish nations and stated once more that all available resources are at the service of the survivors and affected families.
For his part, President Assad showed gratitude and appreciation to President Rashid, the Iraqi government, and the people for their support from the very beginning of the horrible catastrophe on behalf of himself and the Syrians.
President Rashid offers condolences to the Turkish President
On Friday, President Rashid made a phone call with the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
President Rashid offered his deepest sympathies to the Turkish President, the Turkish people, and the relatives of the victims of the catastrophic earthquake and wished the injured a swift recovery.
During the call, Mr. President also conveyed the government and the people of Iraq's solidarity with the Turkish people in their current struggles due to the severe humanitarian effects of the earthquake.
The Iraqi people and President Rashid were thanked by the Turkish President for their support of Turkey following the earthquake tragedy.
