On Tuesday, Slemani General Directorate of Health announced that the hospitals received 635 patients.

Director-General Dr. Sabah Hawrami stated, "During the past 24 hours, the hospitals of the Slemani Governorate received 635 patients with diarrhea and vomiting."

"The health teams in Slemani hospitals provided all necessary treatment for the patients, and most of them recovered and left the hospitals," he added.

For his part, a specialist doctor emphasized the risks of cholera, treatment, and prevention methods.

Internist Dr. Dahat Hawezi told PUKmedia that cholera is a serious infection, but at the same time, its treatment is simple, and most cases recover after receiving the necessary treatment.

He revealed that people with chronic diseases are at more risk, such as diabetes, kidney weakness, blood pressure, the elderly, and children, and must visit hospitals as soon as possible to receive the necessary treatment.

"People with cholera are exposed to severe dehydration in the body, feeling tired, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, and fainting, in addition to Kidney weakness or failure, and a low in minerals and salts in the blood such as potassium, sodium, and calcium, and this leads to muscle paralysis and cases of epilepsy and risks of Sudden cardiac arrest," he explained.
