PUK MP: Parliamentary and presidential efforts are being made to support Hiwa Hospital

On Sunday, a parliamentary delegation visited Hiwa Hospital for Cancer in the city of Slemani to discuss the hospital's needs and requirements, especially ensuring the provision of medicines.

The delegation consisted of MPs Dr. Briar Rashid, Karwan Ali Yarwais, Dara Sekanyani, Soran Omar, and Dr. Muthanna Amin.

For his part, MP Karwan Yarwais, a member of the Council of Representatives from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s bloc, told PUKmedia that the delegation visited Hiwa Hospital to find out the hospital's needs for medicines, services, and supplies.

Yarwais stressed that during their visit, they discussed finding solutions to all the obstacles facing the hospital extensively with the Board of Defense for the Rights of Cancer Patients, and the director of the hospital.

He also stated that all parties affirm the need to work and cooperate to provide medical supplies and medicines for this hospital, which provides its services to patients in the Kurdistan Region and the rest of the Iraqi provinces.

Yarwais pointed out that parliamentary and Presidential efforts are being made for holding meetings with the Federal Ministry of Health to send medical supplies to Hiwa Hospital soon.

He indicated that the efforts of the PUK bloc resulted in the provision of 150 billion dinars within the emergency support law legislated by the Council of Representatives to purchase supplies and medicines for cancer and thalassemia patients, including medical supplies for Hiwa Hospital patients in Slemani.
