The Iraqi Ministry of Culture announced the formation of two teams to add (Wadi al-Salam) cemetery and (Darb Zubaydah) on the World Heritage List.

The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Al-Eliawi, told INA,  "The ministry has prepared two files for World Heritage List, where two teams were formed: one of them has to prepare the file of (Wadi Al-Salam) cemetery, which had previously been prepared but was not submitted to the World Heritage Center for administrative and technical reasons."

"The second team has to prepare (Darb Zubaydah) file, the pilgrimage route with Saudi Arabia, where the preliminary list was submitted two weeks ago, to obtain approval for the inclusion. After approval, a joint file will be prepared with Saudi Arabia," he continued.

Al-Eliawi pointed out that there are thirteen sites on the preliminary list of the World Heritage, all of which are ready for inclusion and are awaiting the financial allocation steps and the formation of a team to prepare the nomination file.
