Iraqi President Nizar Amedi received Aso Mamand, Supervisor of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s (PUK) Kirkuk–Saladin Centre, in Baghdad.

The meeting was also attended by Harem Kamal Agha, leader of the PUK Bloc in the Iraqi Parliament. Discussions focused on the overall political situation in Iraq, with both sides stressing the importance of continued coordination and cooperation among political forces to ensure the success of the political process.

The situation in Kirkuk was also discussed during the meeting. President Amedi praised the role of the PUK and Mamand in promoting understanding and bridging differences among various communities, noting that the current approach contributes significantly to stability and security not only in Kirkuk, but across Iraq.

He further stated that strengthening ethnic and religious coexistence in Kirkuk would help pave the way for greater prosperity and development in the province.

For his part, Mamand expressed appreciation for the President’s support and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Kirkuk impartially and with dedication.

“We hope everyone will support our efforts so that we can deliver more services to our city through practical projects and initiatives,” he said.
