A Kurdish man from the disputed Kurdish district of Kifri has turned his house into a museum and has collected dozens of ancient folkloric crafts.
The Museum of Hassan Agha House in Kifri was established by Hassan Agha's family. His offspring Mustafa Jalal Agha has had the lion's share in collecting the rare and distinguished ancient pieces, where the crafts are displayed and arranged in an eye-catching manner.
Mustafa Jalal Agha told PUKmedia that the history of some of the pieces goes back to 500 years ago.
He said that their house's door is opened and everyone is welcomed to visit.
Mustafa's family aims to introduce the younger generation and foreigners to the history and heritage of the Kurds.
The Kurdistan Region has many great museums for people who would like to know more about the Kurds' history such as the Kurdish Textile Museum in Erbil, the Sulaymaniyah Museum in Sulaymaniyah, the Halabja Monument, the Amna Suraka Museum in Sulaymaniyah, Duhok National Museum, and much more.
It is noteworthy that the Kifri district is a part of the areas disputed between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi Government and according to Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution the area is defined as being Arabized during the era of the fallen Iraqi Baath regime.
