Qubad Talabani, Head of the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal, visited the Cadre Education and Development Academy at the General Studies Centre of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).

He was received by Dr Yousif Goran, Head of the General Studies Centre; Dr Mofaq Khalid, Head of the Cadre Education and Development Academy; Dr Omed Rafiq, Head of the Strategic Research Center; along with teachers and students of the academy.

In his remarks, Dr Goran welcomed Talabani and thanked him for his support and assistance in the establishment of the Cadre Education and Development Academy.

For his part, Talabani expressed his pleasure that the academy has been opened, noting that the party had for some time lacked structured education for its cadres, particularly young members.

“We have been away from educating our cadres for a long time, especially young cadres like you, but I am pleased to see that today you are being educated in the best way and are being prepared for party work and other fields,” he said.

He encouraged the students to serve as a bridge between past and present generations of the party, stressing that many challenges lie ahead.

“What you are learning here is a beginning for the next stage,” he added.

Talabani urged the students to maintain high morale and expressed optimism about their future role within the party.

“You will become the new stars of our party and can play an important and active role in its organs,” he said.

He also announced plans to open a modern cadre academy in Erbil in the near future, noting the need for more qualitative cadres in Erbil, Badinan and surrounding areas.

The visit concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which students raised several questions that Talabani addressed in detail.
