Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Qubad Talabani, has warned of the growing threat posed by a potential resurgence of ISIS, stressing the need for political unity and early preparations to safeguard regional stability.

During a meeting with the Italian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Tommaso Sansoni, Talabani discussed that the terrorist group ISIS is attempting to reorganise. He said the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the international community must treat these developments with the utmost seriousness, as they could once again endanger stability across the region.

Qubad Talabani stressed that the Kurdistan Region must make advance preparations to counter the threat posed by the terrorist group, emphasising that political unity and consensus are essential to overcome the challenge on both security and military levels and to maintain the stability of the country.
