PUK President Praises Ayad Allawi as Veteran Struggler and Friend of President Mam Jalal

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani and Dr Ayad Allawi, head of the National (Al-Wataniya) Coalition and former Prime Minister of Iraq.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met in Baghdad with Dr Ayad Allawi, head of the National (Al-Wataniya) Coalition and former Prime Minister of Iraq.

The meeting was also attended by members of the PUK Political Bureau, Qubad Talabani and Darbaz Kosrat Rasul. Discussions focused on the latest political developments in Iraq and the wider region.

Efforts to form a new Iraqi government were also discussed, with an emphasis on the need to continue dialogue and build on existing understandings in order to establish a strong and service-oriented government.
 
President Bafel praised Dr Allawi’s extensive experience and efforts in opposing dictatorship, as well as his role in building a new Iraq, describing him as a veteran struggler and a friend of President Mam Jalal.
