PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani's meeting with Nouri al-Maliki, leader of the State of Law Coalition.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Nouri al-Maliki, leader of the State of Law Coalition, in Baghdad.

The meeting was attended by Rifaat Abdullah, Vice President of the PUK; Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, a member of the PUK Political Bureau; and Khalid Shwani, Iraq’s Minister of Justice. Discussions focused on the political situation in Iraq and the wider region.

Both sides emphasised the importance of bringing political parties closer together and developing a shared vision for the formation of the new Iraqi government within the scheduled timeframe.
