Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, has extended his New Year greetings, urging all parties to turn a new page by setting aside past differences and conflicts that have weakened the Kurdish position and the Kurdistan Region.

In his message, he stated:

“Happy New Year to everyone. We hope that 2026 will be a year of happiness and success for the people of Kurdistan, and that together we work to serve, rebuild, and develop our country in every respect.

Each side should leave behind the disputes and conflicts of previous years that have undermined the Kurdish position and the Kurdistan Region. Instead of dwelling on past disagreements, we must act responsibly to build trust and reorganise the Kurdish home. Through unity and stronger cooperation, challenges between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad can be addressed, and the constitutional rights and aspirations of the people of Kurdistan safeguarded.”
