PUK Politburo Congratulates Iraqi Parliament's New Speaker

The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has extended its congratulations to Haibat al-Halbousi on the occasion of his election as Speaker of the Iraqi parliament. 

The PUK Politburo's congratulatory message to al-Halbousi read:

Dear Brother Haibat al-Halbousi, Speaker of the Council of Representatives,

We extend our congratulations to you and to the Iraqi people on your election as Speaker of the Council of Representatives for its sixth term.

We hope that your election will mark a positive turning point for the renewal of the political process in our country and the successful continuation of democratic practices during the current term, in a manner that safeguards the interests and addresses the needs of the Iraqi people in all their diversity in the period ahead.
