PUK President Urges Iraqi PM to Safeguard Kurdistan Employees' Rights

PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani's meeting with Iraqi PM Mohammed Shia" Al Sudani.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani in Baghdad.

The meeting was attended by Nizar Amedi, a member of the PUK Political Bureau, and Iraqi Minister of Justice Dr Khalid Shwani. Discussions focused on the importance of uniting efforts to form a strong and efficient government that has a clear vision to serve citizens and reinforce the foundations of statehood .

President Bafel urged PM Al Sudani to expedite the transfer of salaries and to safeguard the rights of public employees in the Kurdistan Region.

For his part, the Iraqi prime minister reaffirmed his commitment to existing agreements, emphasising the federal government’s responsibility to protect the rights of public employees in the Kurdistan Region.
