The Leadership Council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) met under the supervision of PUK Vice President Rafaat Abdullah, who reaffirmed that Erbil holds important and strategic significance for the PUK, and that “Erbil and the PUK are an inseparable twin.”
At the beginning of the meeting, VP Abdullah offered condolences to the families of the victims of the recent floods in Chamchamal and extended his sympathy to the family of Ako Sabir, a member of the security forces who was martyred while assisting citizens.
During the meeting, Qubad Talabani, in his capacity as supervisor of the PUK's elections campaign in Erbil constituency during the Iraqi parliamentary elections, presented a detailed and significant report. Members of the Erbil Leadership Council then shared their views on strengthening organisational efforts for the next phase, reaffirming their longstanding commitment to serving and defending Erbil and its people.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Vice President of the PUK stressed the importance of reinforcing the party’s core principles, which prioritise the public good and expanded services to citizens.
He stated: “The source of the PUK’s strength is our people, and it is our duty—both within the party and in government—to meet their demands.”
