Senior PUK and KIU Leaders Meet to Advance Kurdish Political Unity

PUK and KIU's Political Bureau members meet in Sulaymaniyah.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU) held a meeting at the PUK Political Bureau.

Sarkawt Zaki and Dr Yousif Goran, members of the PUK Political Bureau, received a senior KIU delegation comprising Mustafa Abdullah and Samir Salim, both members of the KIU Political Bureau.

The discussions centred on a KIU initiative calling for a meeting of the Political Bureaus of the parties that won the Iraqi elections.

The two sides also reviewed recent political developments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, stressing the importance of unity and a shared Kurdish position to confront challenges and safeguard achievements.
