U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived in Seoul for discussions aimed at strengthening the United States’ partnership with South Korea and addressing regional security issues. He was received at the Blue House by South Korean President Lee, where the two leaders held a private meeting followed by talks with senior officials from both countries.

The discussions focused on enhancing economic cooperation, improving defence coordination, and promoting stability in the region amid ongoing security concerns on the Korean Peninsula. Both leaders reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and supporting freedom of navigation, as well as advancing efforts towards denuclearisation.

President Trump commended South Korea for its “strong partnership and leadership in ensuring a secure and prosperous Asia,” while President Lee emphasised the importance of continued collaboration to address shared challenges.

The visit forms part of President Trump’s wider tour of Asia, intended to reinforce U.S. engagement with key allies and expand strategic cooperation across the region.

A joint statement detailing the outcomes of the meetings will be published later today.
