Several KRG Representations to be Established in Foreign Countries

After four days of discussion, the conference of the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) Foreign Relations Office concluded today with a proposal to establish government representation in several other countries.
According to information provided to PUKMEDIA, three new representative offices, primarily in Asian countries, are planned to open to further build and fortify Kurdish diplomatic ties with other nations. The KRG already maintains fourteen representative offices in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Daban Shadala, Deputy Head of the KRG's Foreign Relations Office, informed PUKMEDIA: "During the conference, the countries that the KRG intends to open its other representations in have been suggested."
"In-depth talks on the evolution of cultural and economic ties as well as the Kurdish diaspora took place throughout the conference," he stated.
The KRG's Foreign Relations Office had its third conference in Erbil on January 28, 2024, and it is set to conclude today, Thursday.
"The conference's suggestions and recommendations for each committee and topic have been reported in order to advance and restructure the representations' operations," Shadala added, "The KRG representations will cooperate with the embassies of Iraq and seek to foster ties in a number of areas."
The Kurdistan Region hosts 41 consulates and diplomatic officials from various countries. This list contains two consulates from Africa, two from the United States, ten from Asia and the Pacific, twenty from Europe, and seven from the Middle East. All of these consulates are at the Foreign Relations Conference.
