To promote human, scholarly, and scientific
collaborations, the Centre for Future Studies (CFS) and the School of Foreign
Studies at Three Gorges University in China signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU).
The
CFS and the School of Foreign Studies at Three Gorges University of China
formally decided on Tuesday to sign a memorandum of understanding, which was
based on cooperative efforts and academic exchange, after numerous meetings and
discussions.
"This
MOU would further enhance the scientific collaboration and cooperative research
efforts between CFS and the School of Foreign Studies at Three Gorges
University, which holds a prestigious global scientific rating," Dr. Omed
Rafiq Fatah, Deputy Director of the CFS, told PUKMEDIA.
"We
will work together to conduct joint research with an emphasis on Iraq and
Kurdistan. Additionally, we will cooperate in the
field of strategic security research and other areas of priority," he
added.
This
MOU states that cooperation will take place in three areas shortly: providing
scholarships in China, arranging joint conferences and academic events in both
countries and facilitating research opportunities and cultural cooperation for
researchers.
According
to Dr. Omed, the MOU's initial decision has been implemented. This decision
entails providing two full-fee scholarships at the university for individuals
pursuing master's and doctoral degrees.
The
CFS representative's unique attendance as a keynote speaker at the school's
special conference in China will also mark the beginning of the collaboration.
Future Studies Centre (CFS) is a non-profit scientific research organisation founded
in 2016 to serve the public good. It has been approved by the Ministry of
Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq's Kurdistan Region.
