Consulates and diplomatic missions urge KRG to hold elections as soon as possible

Fourteen consulates and diplomatic missions urge the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Kurdistan Parliament to expedite the required preparations for the elections and prioritize fair elections.
The general consulates and diplomatic missions of the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, the European Union, France, the Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Poland, and Romania thank the Kurdistan Regional Government, Parliament, and people for upholding democratic values and principles. They also welcome the parties' renewed spirit of cooperation and urge them to proceed with the elections as soon as possible.
The diplomatic missions and consulates also stress the importance of free and fair elections, thus urging the political parties to cooperate to remove any remaining barriers to a democratic process that upholds international norms and safeguards the rights of all citizens, including women and minorities.
