Education and Higher education ministries reduce working hours in Kurdistan Region

Both Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan Region decided to reduce working hours during Ramadan.
In a statement, the Ministry of Higher Education said that for the public interest and taking into the conditions of the teaching staff, employees, and university students, it decided to reduce the working hours during the holy month of Ramadan, as follows:
1- Reducing employee working hours to one hour.
2- The first lecture of the day will start at 9 A.M.
3- Reducing the duration of lectures (theoretical and practical) by half an hour for lectures of more than two hours or 3 hours long.
4- University presidents can finish lectures earlier by half an hour for lectures that coincide with Iftar.
For its part, the Ministry of Education in the Kurdistan Region has also reduced the duration of classes during the holy month of Ramadan.
The ministry said in a statement that it had decided to reduce the duration of classes as follows:
1- The morning shift starts at 8:00 A.M., with class duration reduced by 5 minutes.
2- The afternoon shift starts at 12:15 P.M., with class duration reduced by 5 minutes.
3- Evening shifts that start at 4:30 P.M. and schools that start before the Maghrib prayer can start work at 7:30 P.M., with class duration reduced by 5 minutes.
4- Schools are not allowed to change the daily class schedule, and any teacher who finishes his/her class, can leave the school after informing the administration.
