On Wednesday, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, commemorated the 34th anniversary of the Halabja tragedy.
Qubad Talabani's statement:
On this occasion, we declare that we will spare no effort to return the remains of the martyrs of Halabja from Iran, which is the biggest evidence of those crimes that are unparalleled in human history.
We will also intensively follow up the file of the missing children of Halabja, find them and return them to their families and relatives. Also, we will review the list of compensation, especially those who did not receive the lands.
Discussions with the Federal Government will continue to form pressure for compensating the families of Halabja victims. The Kurdish representatives in Baghdad must make this issue among the priorities of their tasks.
